Your ‘day to day’ You will be employed in Hong Kong / Shenzhen office to support the Smoke-Free Products at electronic Product Development Center (ePDC). You will be the owner of battery performance and safety verification of battery development and integration. We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert who has a diverse knowledge of battery safety and performance issues related to battery application in consumer electronics. You will review and improve battery verification procedure in line with best in practice around: • Battery characterization • Battery Safety governance • Accelerated life cycle testing • Battery FMEA More specifically, you will: • Lead the development of new battery & chemical system verification processes to accelerate and mitigate the risk of battery integration into devices. • Owner of the battery characterization process. Update and modify the process in order to assess better performance of PMI batteries in field. • Lead and Support the building of a 3rd party ecosystem of service partners to support the above mentioned needs. • Lead the FMEA of battery design & integration overseeing full cycle risk management of PMI battery systems and devices. • Carry out activities ensuring that PMI Compliance Policies, standards, and laws relating to these activities are fully respected, integrated and understood by stakeholders, and implement adequate processes to ensure the protection of information of a confidential nature Who we’re looking for • Minimum of 5 years battery related test and safety experience for consumer electronics. • Experience on battery safety and performance verification. • Experience in managing/collaboration with external development and manufacturing partners. • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English and Chinese is a must • Experience in managing multiple parallel projects. • Creative individual, able to work independently whilst being a core team member • Able to challenge direct reports, peers and senior management • Structured approach to rationalize and develop process, tools and resources from both internal and external partners. • Experimental approach mindset, oriented to quality of results with technical decisions taken on the basis of objective data What we offer Our success depends on our talented employees who come to work here every single day with a sense of purpose and an appetite for progress.
