Supporting transparent and inclusive public consultations in the EU

On May 18, the European Commission launched its Call for Evidence on the revision of EU tobacco products and advertising rules, marking an important opportunity for stakeholders and citizens across the Union to contribute to the policymaking process.

Public consultations are a cornerstone of EU policymaking, helping ensure that policies are shaped by a broad range of perspectives and real-world experiences. At a time when effective regulation is critical, inclusive and well-informed participation plays a key role in delivering balanced outcomes.

To support this process, we are offering the “Your Voice. Your Choice” platform, designed to make it easier for individuals to engage in public consultations. This website uses an artificial intelligence tool to help users express their opinions, guiding them in structuring and preparing their submissions. Importantly, users remain fully in control: they can edit the output, and what they ultimately write—and whether they choose to submit a response at all – it is entirely up to them. Contributions remain the user’s own at every stage.

At a time when millions of adults across the EU continue to smoke - the most harmful form of nicotine consumption - ensuring that all voices are heard is essential.
