Philip Morris International’s (PMI) commitment to creating a culture where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive has seen us scoop four prestigious Stevie Awards.

At the Stevie Awards for Great Employers 2025, PMI’s guiding set of cultural values, the PMI DNA, was awarded Gold in the Achievement in Organizational Culture category, while Frederic Patitucci, our Chief People and Culture Officer, received the Silver Stevie for Human Resources Executive of the Year.

PMI’s people-first approach was also recognized at the 22nd Annual International Business Awards with two Silver Stevie Awards for Mr. Patitucci and PMI DNA: “Unifying Our People, Powering Our Future.”

The PMI DNA plays an integral part in empowering employees to feel valued, supported, and inspired to achieve the company’s shared purpose: Driving meaningful progress toward a smoke-free future. PMI DNA’s Gold and Silver awards highlight the success of the company’s cultural framework—putting our values of “We Care,” “We are Better Together,” and “We are Game Changers” into practice every day.

The awards are among the world’s premier business honors, receiving thousands of entries each year from organizations in over 60 countries. The judges praised PMI for our innovative approach to HR, cultural transformation, and ability to unite diverse teams globally behind a shared mission. They highlighted the strong leadership, co-creation process, and impressive metrics that underpin PMI’s DNA.

Mr. Patitucci’s Silver awards reflect his outstanding leadership in embedding the PMI DNA into talent, development, and performance strategies. He joined PMI in 1998 and since then he has led HR functions across multiple regions including Eastern Europe, the Middle East & Africa, China and Russia, before stepping into his current global leadership role. His vision, empathy, and commitment to weaving the PMI DNA into every aspect of people’s experiences have helped shape PMI into the organization it is today.

“His visionary leadership has undeniably demonstrated that people are the heart of organizational triumph,” the judges commented.

“The PMI DNA initiative, in particular, stands out as a masterclass in cultural transformation, successfully unifying a diverse workforce around shared values and achieving remarkable engagement metrics.”

“Silver is better than bronze, but it is not gold,” said Mr. Patitucci. “This shows there is more work to be done.

“However, winning four Stevie Awards is another great milestone in our growth journey and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together. Let’s build on this momentum and go for gold next year.”

A recognition of growth

PMI’s success at the Stevie Awards for Great Employers adds to the growing list of accolades across other Stevie Awards programs, where the company has previously earned Gold for Achievement in Diversity & Inclusion, Corporate Communications, and Most Innovative Company, as well as Silver and Bronze for leadership in PR and communications.

These awards highlight the achievements of PMI’s greatest asset—our people and the depth of the company’s cultural transformation.
